We're Julian and Sarah Nelson, and we've been passionate about quality footwear since we started this business from our home office back in 2006. What began as a small selection of carefully chosen men's shoes has grown, over nearly two decades, into one of the UK's most trusted specialist retailers of Goodyear welted footwear.
Who We Are
A Fine Pair of Shoes is a family-run business based in Warwick, UK. We specialise in Goodyear welted shoes and boots, a traditional construction method that produces footwear of exceptional durability, comfort and repairability. Unlike mass-market shoes, a well-made Goodyear welted shoe can be resoled and worn for decades.
We stock some of the finest footwear brands in the world, including Berwick 1707, Tricker's, Paraboot, Astorflex, Sanders, Sebago and Goral, alongside the full range of Saphir Medaille d'Or shoe care products. Every brand we carry has been chosen because we believe in it, not because it's fashionable or profitable to stock it.

We've been rated Excellent on Trustpilot consistently since we started collecting reviews, and we're proud of that. Good service isn't a department for us , it's just how we operate. We answer the phone, we reply to emails, and if something isn't right, we fix it.
Over nearly 20 years in business we've built up a deep knowledge of lasts, leathers, sole constructions, fits and brands. If you need advice on which shoe suits your foot shape, or which Saphir product is right for your leather, we're genuinely happy to help.
Our Home
In 2015 we moved from home into dedicated premises in Warwick. In 2021 we moved again into a purpose-built, ultra-low carbon warehouse and showroom, powered largely by our own solar generation and battery storage. It's a space we're genuinely proud of, and you're always welcome to visit, try on footwear, or collect an order in person.
Visiting Us
We're open for visits Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 12:30pm. Please give us a call or drop us a message before you come so we can be ready for you. Parking is available on-site, please use spaces numbered 12 only, as the car park is privately managed.
